Art Deco is back

We all should already know that Art Deco is huge for Spring, as seen from Missoni, Donna Karen New York and art-based fashion brand C-Neeon. Influences from Poiret, creator of streamlining has been seen from the vision of short sheaths that were seen on the runway. His eye for all things oriental has also been revived these few years and is especially strong in S/S 06. More on that later. Meanwhile, all this brought to mind one of the most influential art deco style dresses by YSL in the 60s, the one inspired by Piet Mondrian's block prints.
